We’ve booked a suite in a micro/hotel Air B&B in the Ward Métis area of town, close to the riverside walk. There is a lot of green space. Flying in, it’s remarkable how flat the land is. Fields have just been plowed to prepare them for planting and everything is a yellow ocre or raw sienna kid of colour. Sometimes you can see precisely plowed rows in the fields that look almost like corduroy. I was hoping that we’d luck into some northern lights, but even though there’ve been recent Aurora Borealis alerts on my son’s phone, it was far too overcast. I remain hopeful, however.
